If a tooth breaks off right at the gum line, sometimes it can be restored by removing a small portion of the gum and the underlying bone. This exposes more tooth structure and after only six weeks of healing, a new crown is able to be fabricated. It is then permanently cemented to the newly exposed tooth surface. |
